Inspire A Better Future for our People and The Environment
At STI, we invite external guest speakers to our seminal European Management events to share their industry insights and expertise. The aim is to inspire and provide additional guidance and direction to tackle challenges we face on our transformation journey towards sustainable Freight Management; and diversity, equity and inclusion.
This year, during our first Virtual Management Meeting (VMM), with the motto: "Driven by Embracing Improvement", we had the pleasure to welcome a dear friend of STI, Chidi Ameke. He is an author, change and transformation advisor and business consultant, and a colleague working with our sister company, The Marketing Store. Our close professional relationship with Chidi started in 2019 when he was our guest speaker during our strategic leadership meeting. He shared thought-provoking, inspiring and powerful insights from his first book, "The Intelligent Change Management Guide".
While planning our 2021 Virtual Management Meeting, we learned that Chidi published another business leadership book relevant to our 2021 strategic initiatives, "Purpose-Driven Transformation". The book connected perfectly with the focus of our management agenda. These were: sustainability, digitalisation, operational excellence, customer experience, empowerment of our people, and DE&I.
We invited Chidi, as a guest speaker, to our 2021 European Virtual Management event. The event was attended by 58 of our most senior European Leaders. Chidi’s presentation on "Purpose-Driven Leadership" was impactful, insightful and inspiring. The content was targeted, relevant and valuable, and it will aid in our business transformation journey.
To echo Chidi's core message to our leadership team: "...nurturing outstanding leaders who are fair, ethically-driven, and practice sustainability reside at the heart of our purpose. Purpose-driven leadership is about driving meaningful change, creating an inclusive culture, embody hope, establish trust and display empathy."
It was an absolute pleasure to have Chidi engage with us again. All participants affirmed that Chidi inspired them to examine their leadership competencies and growth opportunities. Chidi's presentation was a tremendous validation of our strategic direction and initiatives. We are excited to be a step closer to realising our vision to be recognised as the leading sustainable Freight Manager in Europe.
