S.T.I. (U.K.) Ltd. is looking for an Assistant Accountant to support the Finance Manager

Location: Hemel Hempstead, HP2 7EU, England

What you will do


In this role you will support the Finance Manager and the General Managers in the provision of high quality financial and management information. This includes reporting month-end accounts to tight deadlines, providing support to the wider finance and operations team in transaction reporting as well as ensuring financial integrity is maintained and recommending improvements to internal procedures.

You will support in the provision of high quality financial and management information and consultancy as well as manage, control, interrogate for accuracy & develop the sales & cost information flow from the company used Transport Management System CarLo(r) into the SAP accounting software.

You will support the Finance Manager in reviewing and improving internal procedures regarding:
• Provision of quality management accounts and operational KPIs
• Preparation of weekly flash reports and monthly management accounts to timescales
• Interrogate and ensure correctness of data interfaced into accounting software
• Ensure completeness of data in the Transport Management System with regards to revenue and cost information.
• Calculation of prepayments and accruals, both for revenue and expenditure.
• Preparation of operational KPIs to strict monthly deadlines.
• Manipulate high volume data to produce analysis, conclusions and recommendations covering options and courses of action
• Improve Internal Controls
• Support the accounts payable and accounts receivable team members in CarLo transport management system and SAP functionality and processes where necessary.

Your Personality

You are a self-motivated individual who has good attention to detail and are a team player with the ability to manage own workloads to meet the necessary deadlines.

Your Skills

Knowledge of Company Tax and VAT calculations and reporting and high level analytical skills including intermediate level Excel, specifically the ability to import and manipulate data from external sources.

Your Experience

Minimum 2 years' experience in a finance role.
Possess full range of skills and knowledge of a commercial accountant, ideally part-qualified 
or QBE.
High level comprehension of management and financial accounting disciplines

• Ensure all transactions are posted on a timely basis.
