STI UK Successfully Passes First GDP Audit

A first for STI UK, reflecting the expertise, dedication and teamwork behind successfully meeting Good Distribution Practice requirements.

Quality is not simply about meeting standards.

It is reflected in the decisions we make, the questions we ask and the way we approach our responsibilities every day. And in pharmaceutical logistics, where the integrity of medicines must be protected throughout the supply chain, that attention to detail is particularly important.

For S.T.I. (U.K.) Ltd., this commitment has now been reflected in an important achievement: the successful completion of its first Good Distribution Practice (GDP) audit, conducted by DQS GmbH.

The result demonstrates that STI UK meets the relevant GDP requirements and has established the necessary quality and compliance framework to support its pharmaceutical logistics activities.

Why Good Distribution Practice matters

Transporting pharmaceutical products comes with particular responsibilities. Medicines must be handled and transported under suitable conditions to protect their quality and integrity throughout distribution.

Good Distribution Practice (GDP) provides the regulatory framework for this. It defines requirements for the distribution of medicinal products, including quality management, documentation, appropriate handling procedures and clearly assigned responsibilities.

For pharmaceutical customers, these requirements are essential when selecting logistics partners. They need confidence that the people handling their products understand what is at stake and that the necessary processes and controls are in place.

STI UK's successful audit provides this assurance, confirming that the required framework has been established and the relevant standards are being met.

The people and work behind the result

An audit may take place on a particular day, but the work behind it begins long before.

For STI UK, preparing for its first GDP audit involved reviewing processes, establishing the required quality framework, defining responsibilities and ensuring that the relevant requirements were understood and implemented.

Special recognition goes to Joshua Banks, Team Lead QA & Compliance at STI UK, who took on the role of GDP Responsible Person and led the preparations for the audit.

His dedication, expertise and personal commitment played an important part in achieving this result, supported by the cooperation and contributions of colleagues across the business.

It is this combination of individual responsibility and teamwork that turns requirements into processes people can rely on.

Taking quality the extra mile

With this achievement, STI UK joins STI Hungary, STI Germany and STI Italy within the STI Freight Management Group in having successfully demonstrated compliance with GDP requirements.

For the Group, this is another positive development in its pharmaceutical logistics activities. For STI UK, it represents the successful completion of an important piece of work and the responsibility that comes with maintaining these standards.

Because quality does not end when an audit has been passed. It continues in the decisions made, the questions asked and the way challenges are approached every day.

That is also what Taking Quality the Extra Mile means to us.

Congratulations to everyone involved at STI UK in this achievement!
